RECENT ADVANCED TRENDS IN GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING
Soil will be the key material for mankind to create the built environment of the next millennium.The requirements of this Foundation of infrastructure will be demanding, in terms of technical performance and economy for ground improvement & the principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics for the solution of its respective engineering problems. Gandhinagar Institute of Technology, Civil Engineering Department, IQAC GIT managed by Platinum Foundation organized a Two Days State Level Webinar on “Recent advanced trends in geotechnical engineering” under the guidance of Dr H N Shah (Director, GIT) on April 11th – 12th, 2022 through Google Meet for Civil Engineering Students, Faculties & Geotechnical Engineers. 55 students and faculty members from the Civil Department attended the webinar. In the webinar following recent trends were discussed like Sustainable geotechnical practices, Geodynamics, Grouting Technology, Laterally Loaded Pile Foundation & Geothermal Energy by Dr. Vemula Anand Reddy, Dr. Mohit Mistry, Dr. Kannan Iyer, Dr. N. H. Joshi, Prof. Paresh Umredkar, Prof. Jignesh Vaniya.
